Opening times: The Vistors' Centre is open Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 3:30pm.
Distance: The circular walk around the lake is two miles in length.

Additional activities: As well as the visitors' centre, there is an adventure park, a cafe half way around the circular lakeside route and a nature reserve. The Water Activity Centre on Lake Bank also caters for groups and individuals wanting instruction in windsurfing, dinghy sailing and other water-based sports, and now also arranges training for groups in mountain biking and climbing.

Facilities and refreshment options: The visitor centre is just off Rakewood Road, and has a permanent exhibition of local wildlife and heritage, a gallery of artists work, information desk, small shop, cafe, toilets, and free-to-use mobility scooter hire (booking required). The lake is also well served by a selection of cafes, pubs, and restaurants by the car park, including the option of fish and chips.
