North Dean Woods

Address: Start at Brig Royd Car Park in West Vale (HX4 8AL).

Opening times: Open all the time.

Admission: Admission is free.

Detail: The woods lie on the outskirts of Greetland and West Vale and link to Copley Woods. There are a number of footpaths within the woods, to include part of the Calderdale Way. There is also a wide variety of of plants and birdlife to discover. From Brig Royd Car Park, cross the bridge over the water, to Clay House Park. In Clay House Park you will find Clay House (a 17th century Jacobean property). The entrance to the wood is behind Clay House. 

Wheelchair/Pram friendly: The path through the woods is not wheel friendly.

Additional activities: Look out for the fairy trail and painted stone snake (add your own painted stone). Children can also enjoy some time on the playground at Clay House Park. 

Parking and any fees: Parking at Brig Royd Car Park is pay and display. Alternatively you may find free on street parking around the centre of West Vale. 

Facilities: A number of eateries can be find in West Vale Centre. There are no separate public toilets in West Vale or in North Dean Woods.
