Cannon Hall

Address: Park and Gardens, Bark House Lane, Cawthorne, Barnsley S75 4AT

Opening times: Cannon Hall Park and Gardens are open all year round. However, the Walled Garden is locked every night and also for some special events.

Distance: You can follow a trail from the gardens down to Cawthorne, which is less than a mile and has some shops to browse including a traditional  sweet shop in the post office for the kids.

Wheelchair/Pram friendly: All of the paths are pram friendly and even if you decided to venture off onto the grass, it is quite smooth and kept short.

Additional activities: There is a children's playground, a walled garden with an extensive collection of pear trees, a greenhouse housing 200 year old grape vine, the remains of a Pinery (greenhouse built in 1700) and Fairyland, which was built in 1870 featuring arches and pillars. You can pay a visit to the Cannon Hall Museum on site.

Parking and any fees: Parking is on site and is £1 for two hours or £3 for all day.

Facilities and refreshment options:  The Pavilion cafe is located in Cannon Hall Park and sells sandwiches, soups, cakes and pastries and hot and cold drinks. Seating is available inside or on the terrace overlooking the park. A children’s menu available. Toilets are situated next door.
